Dave Hicks

Vancouver Armwrestling Club Profile

Dave started pulling in 1985 in Stoney Plain Alberta after he saw Tony Senger on the Wild World of Sports t.v program. He then went to a local tournament to watch Tony compete. From there, John Miazdzyk helped to get Dave started and he was hooked. He mainly trained with Bernie Lemay, John Miazdzyk and sometimes Tony Senger.

In 1992 Dave moved to the west coast of BC around the same time as his training partner Bernie. He was thinking about retiring from competing but Keith Koenig of Kelown  re-lit the fire to keep Dave motivated. He has been training, reffing and coaching with the Vancouver Armwrestling Club ever since.
